A passion project dedicated to sharing the stories, people, and moments that shaped the American Civil War. This blog isn’t about pushing an agenda. It’s about history. Raw, complex, human history. From battlefield tactics to personal letters, forgotten regiments to famous generals, Blue vs Gray is a space for anyone who wants to learn, reflect, or simply explore the past.
My own connection to this history runs deep. Growing up, my grandfather had what you could call a borderline obsession with the Civil War. He talked about it constantly — battles, generals, little-known facts — and as a kid, I didn’t really get it. But now, older and a little wiser, I understand exactly where that passion came from. Sadly, he’s no longer with us, but this project is a quiet tribute to the curiosity he sparked in me.
Whether you’re a longtime buff or just curious about the war that divided a nation, I hope this site gives you something to think about or something to share. This comes from a deep love of history and a belief that the more we know about where we’ve been, the better we understand where we are.
Thanks for stopping by. Let’s keep the history alive.
